God loves you is the simplest message of salvation ever told. In three words, it answers every major question about salvation.
How do we know God loves us?
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Why does God love us?
1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” , Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
Who is God?
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”, 1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one.”, Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
How did God love us?
Romans 5:6 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”, 1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Why do we need God’s love?
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;”, Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
“Never was a man thus wronged, but do not think me mad! I’ve been lying here in hideous darkness…”
–Malvolio (excerpt from “Twelfth Night”)
1 Chorinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God.”
Never was a man thus wronged as was the Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
God so loved the world, that He sacrificed the most valuable thing in all of the universe, so that those who were lying in hideous darkness, could see the great light of His love. God loved you enough, not only to send His son to die for you, but to have you share in that death. Notice it the first doesn’t say by His stripes we are healed, but rather, with His stripes.
What love! That we would partake in the sufferings of Christ and be resurrected to new life with Him. That God would save us not only from death, but to life. Isaiah 9:5 “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
The ultimate love is Christ coming to earth in human form to live, to die, and to be resurrected from death for you.
Who is God? How could God love you? Why would God love you?
The truth is: God exists, and because He created you, He loves you. There is nothing that you could ever do that would make God love you any more, and there is nothing you could do that would cause Him to love you any less. He loves you. Take a moment to watch the music video at the top of this post, and share it with friends so that the message may touch many more lives. It’s a simple song titled, “God Loves You, Always Has, and Always Will”.
As always, thanks for reading.
